well, we are now at the condo and mostly settled in. They got to me about an hour late because of an emergency. The procedure to put the port in, I am sorry to say, was not painless. They do two incisions and shoot both areas with litacane before cutting. The shots hurt but I didn't feel the incisions. The worst part was when he inserted the port. He had to push this one inch round metal thing down under my skin. I think I metabolize medication quickly cuz I always have break away pain. At one point the doc noticed I was distressed and breathing to stay on top of it and told the anesthesiologist to give me more pain killer. I'm glad he noticed...it was really hurting. It just feels pretty bruised now.
Tomorrow cat scan and Wednesday chemo.
